I really had the most wonderful time in Spain with my buddy Juan Miguez(KiKo) and the rest of his friends who treated me like their child hood friend. After a days stay in Paris I took a train from Paris Austeralitz station to Irun. At Irun we(Paresh and Myself) changed trains to Juan's place.(Santiago De Compostella). Irun is in the east of Spain and Santiago is to the west. So the Journey took nearly 8 hours . But, it was a breat taking journey. One of the best sceneries I have ever enjoyed in my whole life. the train passed along a river then a dam, lake, forest etc. The train passed through god knows how many tunnels. I must have taken atleast about 50 snapshots of the entire journey. I met very nice spanish folks, made friends with a couple of them. But our hearts were pounding because we had come a long way to meet KiKo.
Finally we arrived at the station and called Kiko on his cell phone. He was surprised that we made it to his place without any problem. He took us to his house( a beautiful house located along the beach pics 1,2,3 ) and then he took us to a town fiesta!!!. The whole town involved in a festival. Thsis was a genuine Spanish treat for me. Then he introduced myself and Paresh to his friends who were just like him very jovial and open minded. The talked to us without any reservation. "Amigos" as we call them(friends). KiKo has a cousin who is an expert driver and His name is Enrique("Chosko") as he is fondly called. He drove us through one of the narrowest, steepest, bumpiest and conjested roads. KiKo himself is a good driver as you shall hear form my account of the Portugese Trip.
I stayed with Kiko for five days about one third of my fourteen day trip. Paresh had more time and went on to Italy to meet his Uncle. We met his GrandMa and GrandPa(pics1, 2). Then his Aunt Pele who is a wonderful person. Then we went on to a sailing trip,pic1 into the Atlantic Ocean though we only got near it. Actually it was a festival to honor the sailors who gave their lives to save a sinking ship with people. On the same night we watched grand fireworks. Next Day we went for a small hiking from where we could see the whole bay(pics 1,2,3,4). We hit the beach on the last day of our stay. An unforgetable experience. Then we packed up and Left for Portugal......
